Dashboard in new version of Flashificator

Postby colchagua007 » Tue Mar 09, 2010 9:32 am

Hi Trausti,

There seem to be something wrong with the workings of the dashboard in the new version of Flashificator. When you choose a new dashboard the buttons are to "bunched" together there seem not to be an equidistant space between them.

I know the buttons can get clogged up sometimes... but normally it helps to change the size with the sizing slider and eventually hit the "Reload" button.

Are the buttons also clogged if you flashificate the project?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Can you make a saved project with such an error and attach the .ffc file to a private message to me, so that the programmer can have a look at what might be causing this?

I noticed it as well, to fix it I just removed a button from the dashboard by unchecking one.

Hi Terrycm,

Got the files and things are as you describe them.

The dashboard is not a plugin, but a messed up pre-set for the buttons, and the default buttons are what the spacing is based on. The default dashboard images are 71 x 71 pixels, and yours are 72 x 72 pixels... a very close match, so this should give a good and even distance between the buttons when you scale them down in size.

For some reason the dashboard buttons show as scale size "10" in the "c" file you sent me, and not "2", as it should be. That is clearly an error and with this file it should be possible to locate and get rid of it.

However... clicking once on the scaling slider, the value changes to "2", and the buttons get a nice distance of each other, rather than being lined towards each other. Flashificating results in the same (ok) distance between the buttons:

Equally file "b" shows the scale as "5" when opened, and not "1" as it should be. Clicking on the slider, changes the value, and the buttons spread apart:

Another thing that has irritated me quite a bit over a long time, is that the thumbnail images of the dashboard buttons don't update in the toolbox as they should... leaving some of them in the default button design, and some in the custom design. The best way to counter that, especially if you always use your same button design, is to replace the contents of the default button folder, with the new design. That results in your own buttons to show up by default (saves you from the extra clicks to select the folder the custom buttons are in) and also keeps the mixup view at bay. One or another day there will be done some re-work on the buttons setup.... it's a messy mess from the early days of the development... it works, but has it's downsides as well.

Thanks Trausti,

If I remember correctly I did do that one time, replaced the default buttons with my own, but I can't remember what happened, maybe they got replaced back to the default with the upgrades.

Any news as to why it wont replace an existing file that has the same name?

Kind regards,

Rodrigo
